Journalist insists rape claim is true A female journalist, identified only by the initials MC, has said that she felt intimidated by investigators and believed they wanted to force her to admit she was not raped as she has claimed. MC insists that most of her statements were true, including the rape and assault by an unidentified teenager, and that she was only untruthful about one issue. MC has admitted to having an affair with her colleague, identified only as CK, who accompanied her to the alley before the incident took place that evening. She lied to hide the truth from her husband. “This case has no relation to CK. The media would rather highlight my affair with CK than the main problem itself,” said MC as quoted by tempo.co. Jakarta Police chief detective Adj. Sr. Comr. Herry Heryawan denied any pressure had been put on MC. “Today’s interrogation will be accompanied by a psychiatrist. Investigators need to know whether the victim’s statements are true or not. It’s because a lie detector test has confirmed she was lying,” he said. In the course of the investigation, investigators found irregularities as the victim changed her statements several times. Police felt doubts about the case also because forensic tests confirmed there was no semen or any evidence of rape on her clothing.
