Journey seems to be doing well this morning. Shes sleeping fairly comfortably overall. A little lower heart rate today which, in the past, has been indicative of an infection. The antibiotics are still causing loose stools, and the diaper rash isnt comfortable. Theyre starting a new antibiotic today and canceling one of the others... The doctors have reminded me the last few days, and again this morning, that even though shes 37 weeks (gestational), shes now only at about a 32-week gestational age in most areas. Other babies can be perfectly healthy, if theyre born 37 weeks, and need no support. But Journey has chronic lung disease, and is still depending on the ventilator and oxygen, and has not started eating independently yet. People have asked if she just needs to hit a certain weight. I wish that was all because shes 4 lb 12 oz and thats enough for many babies to go home. She has a long way to go. Aiming for my due date, January 30, but they think it may be longer. Please keep praying. To be honest, Im especially heavy hearted today for my girl. Just want her to be healthy and feel better. We are grateful to God for continuing to touch her and heal her. And we will keep fighting with her. But my heart is hurting extra big right now. Big tears. Thank you so much for your care and prayers.
