Joy!!! Rapture!!! Unexpectedly pervasive relief!!! I have re-entered the technological age, after finally getting a working phone line, and broadband, yes, BROADBAND!!! Wa-hoooooo!!!! We began moving house on 28th February. I didnt think that the delay in transferring our services from old address to new would be THAT big a deal. HOWEVER, when you move into a gloriously isolated cottage In The Sticks, with only occasional (and tantalisingly brief) bursts of poor mobile phone signal, and you are trying to organise your house move, HansCamp 9 AND some other event that is happening in the reasonably near future (Mums the word, eh?!), the lack of any reliable method of communication with the outside world tests the bounds of resilience and ingenuity. Thankfully, my new neighbour shares his BT WiFi signal, although rather sporadically, and not in any part of the cottage that was conducive to sustained efforts. At work, I found myself lurking outside the Theatre Royal in my taxi, linked up to their free WiFi, muttering my thanks for a stable, reliable connection, while I frantically fired off bursts of emails and tried to negotiate the intricacies of sending out files remotely located in the World Wide Web. And then, just as I was relaxing into my newfound escape from the World Wide Wilderness, my phone rang. Excitement!! Who could it be??? My Mum or Dad? My sister? No one else has this number yet... I boinged up from my chair, and practically skipped to receive my very first phone call in our new house. $%&@ing automated sales call. Bastards. :o< xxx
