Joy is being comfortable alone.... Lighting candles and watching #Oprah honor Legends from the Civil Rights Movement in your ugliest sweats and headscarf. Joy is also the lesson that I have been dining on all day: The work you do on your self is the greatest work you will ever do in this life. And when I say work... I mean the sweat of seeing yourself beyond what life says... The ugly cry of fighting to find your voice in the sea of voices you have pretended to be you own... The inner war of un marrying the negativity you made love to because its all you have ever known.... The ego dying... The gut punching death to the false self. Dear God, it is the labor pains of authenticity that gives birth to the knowing... To be more specific the Stand a Still and Knowing that He is God. It is hard and dumb ugly... But it is worth it to finally know you are worthy. And after the war is won.. It goes down in your history book... You dont have to prove it...dwell on it... Just live in it... Step into it... And gracefully get rid of those who find joy in questioning it❤️
