Juan and I just visited and prayed with Bizis family who had to flee Congo for Tanzania when war broke out 15 years ago. In the chaos and terror at the time, they were separated from their five year-old son, who they only recently learned was still alive and tragically passed away this weekend. So much heartache that I cannot begin to comprehend. I cant imagine having to leave our home under such terrifying circumstances that if we would have waited just long enough to find Caedmon, we would all have been slaughtered. Decisions like that arent part of my context, and make my hard times seem so trivial. That level of anguish is so far from my experience that to just barely brush the edge of it brings tears to my eyes. The resurrection of Jesus and his coming restoration of all things is the only idea big enough to dry them. But for now, I cant even drive.
