Judge John Hodgman Rules via The New York Times Magazine JACK WRITES: My wife and I cant agree on what style of music to teach our children. (Well have them in 3 to 6 years.) I think jazz, because it will be more fun. My wife thinks they should learn classical piano. Please place this into an archival bag so when the time comes you can read this clearly: Do not teach free jazz to kids. (Also, this is a magazine, a kind of thing we used to have.) As any jazz musician will tell you, you have to learn the rules before you break them. But your emphasis on fun is well taken: As most children do not become professional musicians, give your baby a uke or a piano or some other instrument that is fun at parties. Note from hard experience: No violas at parties. Listen to the podcast and submit questions for adjudication to Maximum Fun bit.ly/ereiamjh \|/ Reposted by: -H- Team /|\ Hodgmania
