Julie Gonzales Fleiser CRIED WHEN HE HAD TO RETURN TO HIS KENNEL REESE PIECES MISSES BEING SOMEONES FRIEND 2 year old Reese Pieces is a pit mix at the Manhattan shelter, and he is demonstrating what he thinks of the New Hope rating that they have given him. Please share and advocate for RP before he becomes RIP...He was very friendly during his eval, but guarded his rawhide and food, so you must apply with the rescues to foster/adopt. He is a GOOD DOG! A volunteer writes: The color of peanut butter and as sweet as chocolate - and thats the genesis of Reese Pieces name! RP (for short) wears a gorgeous burnt orange coat which is lush, well groomed and cared for. Happy to be going out for a walk, he went immediately indicating hes likely house-trained, and with a wagging tail had fun in the snow. Keeping his nose to the ground, playing and biting at the snow, RP had a great time as we walked. His leash manners are good, and while he pulled slightly from time to time hes easy to handle. Posing for pictures perfectly, RP sat when I asked him, shakes paw (and then gives my hand a kiss!), and gently took his reward treats. An off leash dog came running over to us and RP had no reaction, just watched him come and go. I cleaned RPs feet back in the building and he was fine with all handling. He didnt want to go back into his kennel, and cried once inside. RP was clearly a well taken care of and loved companion before joining us and hes ready to find his special someone again..
