July 13th, 2014 Weather Highlight(s): A weather disturbance off - TopicsExpress

July 13th, 2014 Weather Highlight(s): A weather disturbance off the southern OR coast this morning will track northward along the OR coast today and then move inland across Washington on Monday. This will aid in more thunderstorm activity today and Monday before it exits eastward by Tuesday. Warm high pressure pattern will continue through the week with varying amounts of lesser thunderstorm activity. Fire Potential: Heavy IA activity from lightning expected across the region today and moderate IA again tomorrow, mostly in WA. Large fire potential is elevated in numerous PSAs across the region but probabilities above 20% are currently being shown by our model in central portions of the region along with NE Oregon (PSAs NW05, NW06 and NW11. IA will decrease significantly after Monday but hot and dry weather will continue drying of fuels. Next focus will be a potential wind event on Thursday which will likely elevate burning conditions significantly but confidence not high enough yet for a High Risk . T. Marsha Preparedness Level: National = 2 Northwest = 2
