(July 20, 2011) "...Most of the roads that were a part of the West Virginia portions of the system have been completed, including sections of Corridor L from Beckley to Sutton, Corridor D from Cincinnati to Bridgeport, Corridor E from Morgantown to Hancock, Md., and Corridor G from Pikeville, Ky. to Charleston. About 81 miles of the 140 miles of Corridor H are complete. Construction is under way on another 16.5 miles. The remainder is under study or in the design phase. The Appalachian Regional Commission was first authorized to begin constructing the highway system in 1965. The legislation introduced this week would authorize the full funding of the project..."
