July 2014 Member News Mare Akana’s “Surf and Turf” exhibit of sculpture, ceramics, fine silver jewelry and 2D mixed media is on display at the Shrewsbury Library for the month of July. Vicky Culver has been inducted into the Audubon Artists Inc., a national art society of great distinction. She also participated in the Belmar Arts Council’s “Jersey Shore Moments” in July. Nanci France- Vaz’s oil painting “The Wish” appeared in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine. Annette Margulies and Leona Tenebruso-Shultes are exhibiting their acrylic paintings at the Oyster Point Hotel through August 31. Mike Scherfen has been inducted into the Audubon Artist, NYC and the American Artists Professional League, NYC as a full Member. His watercolor painting “The Cavern Guide” won a second place award at the Skylands 27th Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibit. “The Cavern Guide” has also been accepted into the Hudson Valley Art Association 82nd Annual Juried Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in NYC, on display September 20 - 26. “The Gondoliers” won an Award of Merit in the New Jersey Watercolor Society 2014 Elected Members’ Show in Monmouth Beach, NJ, this past June. “Spanish Fisherman” was accepted into the RSI Bank’s 3rd Annual Artists Contest at RSI Bank in Rahway, NJ. Karen Starrett’s “Full-Color Nature” exhibit of her acrylic paintings is on display this July at the Frederick Gallery in Allenhurst.
