July 22 1914-A heat wave ended after some stations had highs of 100 degrees or more for two weeks. 1939-A heat wave peaked, with highs of 110 at Booneville and Texarkana, and 109 at Mena and Mount Ida. 1943-Several places reached 110 degrees or more and most places saw highs of 100 degrees or more. 1996-Temperatures reached near 100 in central and northern sections. The cap broke and severe thunderstorms explosively developed. Winds blew down the left field wall at Ray Winder Field in Little Rock. July 23 1826-Through at least the 25th, weather was unusually cold for the season. 1927-Two to four inch rains fell in the Ouachita Mountains. 1934-All stations reached 100 degrees or more with a few places at 109 or 110. July 24 1934-The high temperature at Lutherville reached 112. 1960-Four to six inches of rain fell in the west. Fayetteville saw nine inches of rain. A tornado touched down at Gillett. 1961-10.67 inches of rain fell at Dierks. 1971-Four to seven inches of rain caused flooding on the Ouachita and Saline Rivers. 1999-A waterspout on Bull Shoals Lake moved on shore and became a tornado just north of Lead Hill. 2013- A strong storm system produced heavy rainfall in portions of northern and western Arkansas, with as much as four to nearly six inches near Calico Rock, Langley, and Murfreesboro.
