July 22/8:47 a.m./Day 12 Aloha Family and friends, Land Ho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 72 nautical miles out of Diamond Head and we have spotted Molokai. Most likely this will be my final blog installment. For the rest of the story, buy me a Mai Tai and I will talk your ear off. We can almost smell the Plumeria, Poi, and Spam. We are dealing with some very odd wind direction and are approaching Molokai on a fairly tight angle on port pole. Last nights squalls brought more rain than wind. . . unfortunately. No doubt the boat will be pretty ripe when we hit the dock. About 30 minutes ago our Electonic B and G compass froze yet again. It is always a little confusing to the driver when this initially happens as they have to change their focus and ignore the instruments and sail this 52 foot racing yacht as if it were a laser dinghy.
