July 29 (Adapted from J.Smith.) “I am a stranger in the earth.” Psalm 119v.1 As believers in Jesus, we are strangers here and citizens of heaven; our true family, treasure, and hearts are there. Here we have no fixed home; nor should we take part in worthless deeds of evil ; instead expose them. The Bible is our light, our food, and our joy .Jesus promises to be our Friend and Guide. We should pray for the country in which we live; we should be thankful for it but set our affections on things above. We should be neither impatient or reluctant to going home, but submit to our Father’s will. We should think of ill- treatment as permitted to do us good; and contrast our present state with heaven- our true home. ‘I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold; I’d rather be His than have riches untold; I’d rather have Jesus than anything This world affords today.’ (Miller)
