July 4th has come and gone, but I wanted to share the flag I made for my mantle. I have a piece of wood covered in burlap that I have used for many backdrops on my mantle, and this year....I saw it was also in the shape of a flag. So, I tore up a curtain valance (or window treatment, if you prefer :) ) for the toile stripes, and was looking around the house for something to use as the stars. Lo and behold, I was wearing navy polk-a-dot pajama bottoms......so, off go the bottoms, and I cut one of the legs for the stars. This was the beginning of my holiday mantle....just wanted to share, since I love all the crafts and ideas on this page!
