July 6 (Adapted from J. Smith.) “God is with us.” Isaiah 8 v.10 God’s people should never feel lonely, for they are never alone. God is with them as an Observer, noticing every thought, word, and action; every trial and danger. He is with them as a Father, loving and talking with them. He is with them as the Lord of Armies, having all armies of earth and heaven under His direction. He is with them as a Guide and Counsellor, to lead them; as a Friend to comfort them; as a Saviour, to deliver them; and as the holy, sin-hating God. He is present with them to reprove and try them, to humble and preserve them, to comfort and save them with an everlasting salvation .Let us remember that God is always with us , and for us; and ‘ If God be for us ,Who can be against us?’ “As far as East is from the West, So far His love has borne away Our many sins and trespasses And all the guilt that on us lay. Just as a father loves his child, So God loves those who fear His name. For He remembers we are dust, And well he knows our feeble frame.’ ;
