July 6th, 2014 GOOD THINGS ARE COMING Hebrews 9:8-12 Beloved, Greetings! Hebrews 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.. (NKJV) DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT A priest is one who is chosen from among men and is duly authorized to minister in sacred things, particularly to offer sacrifices at the altar, and to act as mediator between men and God. He is the peoples representative before God. What a priest does or does not, has an implication on the people he represents. The entire people he represents can come under guilt as a result of his error or sins. Aaron is the first high priest and Jesus Christ is the last. Aaron could not continue by the reason of death but Jesus Christ is a priest forever, because He lives forever. Jesus did not offer the blood of goats or calves as sacrifice for our sin, like priests before Him; He offered Himself a perfect sacrifice. He did a onetime sacrifice that covers for the sin of the whole humanity. His sacrifice is superior because He is sinless and without blemish. By one sacrifice He obtains an eternal inheritance for us. No need for the blood of calves we got the answer in Christ our High Priest; praise God forever more! Good things accompany His priesthood office. It is written But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come. Good things are coming, get ready for testimonies of good things this month. Anything that is less than good and far from new shall be far from your domain in the name of Jesus Christ our High Priest. APPLICATION: Celebrate the Priesthood of Jesus Christ. PRAYER FOCUS: Father, let every good thing that accompanies the priesthood office of Christ manifest in my life this month in Jesus name.
