June 15: Pray for new friendships and deepening relationships at General Conference. Daily Prayer: God of the prophet Joel, as we gather in Chicago as your Pentecost people, we ask for a fresh outpouring of your spirit. We claim, great God of wind and fire, the gifts of the Holy Spirit for Metropolitan Community Church. We offer ourselves to their unique manifestation among us so that we might boldly proclaim a gospel of Christian salvation, Christian community, and Christian social action for the twenty-first century. As on that first day of Pentecost, may we experience at this General Conference not only a miracle of clear speech, but also a miracle of hearing each other deeply, bringing new life to our shared dreams and visions.
