(June 17, 2013) A video posted Sunday on YouTube shows rapper Lil Wayne stomping on the U.S. flag while making a video of his song "God Bless Amerika" in New Orleans, TMZ reported Monday. Wayne is seen rapping in front of a large American flag when the video begins. The flag is lowered as he performs until it is completely on the ground. The Daily Caller observed that it is difficult to tell if the flag was lowered on purpose or if it fell accidentally. Wayne is seen rapping while walking back and forth on the flag. TMZ noted some of the controversial lyrics in the song: “My country ’tis of thee / Sweet land of kill ‘em all and let ‘em die / God bless America / This ole’ godless America.” A post at Contact Music said that Wayne not only upset his "fellow countrymen," he violated U.S. flag code which says the flag is not to be on the ground or stepped on. A number of readers at TMZ were not happy with the rapper. "The Obama administration shares the same sentiment," one person said. Another reader suggested letting veterans take it up with the rapper in private while another expressed disappointment that Carter did not "seize out and drop dead" while making the video. Some supported his actions as "free speech," or "art," but most did not. That Video can be viewed here- examiner/video/rapper-lil-wayne-seen-stomping-on-flag-while-making-music-video
