June 24, 2014 . SIMPLE FAITH . Luke 8:48 Then he said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace. . I was asked to go and pray for someone who has cancer today. When I was in seminary, no classroom instructions prepared me for hospital visits. In principle, we study what to do in certain situations or they taught me what to say and do, but when it came to reality, not enough class room time could have prepared me for practical experience. I have held the hand and touched the forehead of more people than I care to remember. With each situation comes the same hope and that is the hope that maybe, just maybe God the Creator will be gracious to permit the person we are praying for to be healed. Since I started pastoring, I have received the confidence from time to time as I feel God the Creator is telling me the person I am praying for will be healed. Other times I have no such revelation and pray in faith believing that the person I am praying for might get healed. But regardless if you get the feeling or not, you still pray in faith believing that person will be healed. . As Jesus was passing by, a lady touched his garment. It was at that time that Jesus felt the touch of her hand and said, Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” (Luke 8:46) I do not understand this type of hyperspiritual sensitivity. I am only a man, but Jesus being who He was - God, could sense even the touching of His garments. I can imagine the panic that went through the heart of the lady when He asked, Someone touched me... He could feel the healing power go out from Him. But what I love the best is what He said afterwards. He said, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace. Her faith had healed her. I am sure she also was not expecting that. It was not the touching of the garments of Jesus that healed her, but her faith, believing that if only she could touch Him all would be well. What choice did she have? If she was expecting sensationalism, she did not get it. Because the healing she needed came by simple faith, just believing that it would happen. For at the end, it is like Jesus said, According to your faith let it be done to you... (Matthew 29:9) . Robert Soto Lipan Apache and Pastor of: .
