June 25 in Santa Fe: two important Indigenous Solidarity actions At 2:30 pm, advocates for clean energy and the protection of sacred native land are marching from the Clock Tower (1470 S. St. Francis St.) to the downtown Santa Fe plaza. Along the way, visits will be made to the New Mexico Mining Association and the Uranium Producers of America. The purpose of the march is to stop the proposed “Roca Honda” uranium mine on Mt. Taylor, in solidarity with Native American tribes who regard this mountain as a sacred place and center for traditional spiritual ceremony. At 4:15 pm, following the arrival of the march by 4 pm at the Santa Fe Plaza, there will be an Idle No More Round Dance to honor Native American political prisoner Leonard Peltier and call for his freedom. occupynewmexico.org/home/protect-mt-taylor-free-leonard-peltier-solidarity-march-and-round-dance-in-santa-fe-on-tuesday-june-25/
