June 25th , 2013 To my friends, family and community, During last night’s Transgender Foundation of America board meeting I decided it was time to step away from the organization as a board member. Last month, Monyque Starr was elected as the new president and I am confident that she will lead TFA well. She brings an incredible amount of leadership skills to the board helm, and I know she will take the mission seriously and help the growth of the organization. This does not mean that I will stop being an activist, advocate or educator. My passion for my communities has not diminished in any way. I am still here to be a voice for the trans and gender variant communities. I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way; words can never repay the kindness and strength you have shared with me. I look forward to continuing our relationships.
