You, our valued customers have helped to make us a successful business yet again. In this era of online shopping, cross border shopping, box stores, discount stores, kijiji and e-bay, we know that you have many options for filling your agricultural needs and appreciate that you continue to support us. Team Rooney, will continue to work as hard as we can to provide you with the service and knowledge that you deserve. We take pride in your success. Here is what is happening in the store as well as some dates for you to mark on your calendar. Chick Days continue, love our “Have You Hugged a Chick Today” days. Thanks for the hugs. Congratulations to everyone that takes the time to raise their own food and produce fresh eggs for the table. We are also grateful that customers bring us a dozen or so eggs to say thanks for helping. Get out your calendar or phone it is time to save some dates. August 8th 7 to 9 pm. Matt Taylor, from Bishop Seeds, some of you have met him, will return to Kemptville to discuss fall seeding. Matt will focus on what needs to be done to have your pastures and lawns healthy for next spring. This will also be the time to bring in soil samples for testing. Soil testing, like hay testing, will tell you just what you are working with and what fertilizers or seeds will grow best in your soil. The cost of a soil sample is $35.00. (There will be discounts on this if attending) Money well spent to take the guess work out of planting pasture, hay or a lawn. Aug 17th. South Mountain Fair Youth Fun Horse Show Tayler is again volunteering her time to organize this event at the fair. We are fortunate that a customer has volunteered to help Tayler and has been able to bring the game forward with extra prizes and guests. This will be one of the best Fun Shows ever. We are proud of her for taking on this challenge and hope you can come out and support our future riders. Contact Tayler at 513-4954 to ask questions or register. August 24th 1 to 4 pm Industrial Park Block Something new for the Industrial Park, we are joining with Rideau St. Lawrence Vet Services, Kemptville Animal Hospital, Star 97.5 and others in the park to bring attention to what we have to offer. Our favorite date to save: September 22nd, 7th annual Poker Run again at Limerick Forest. Like many of you, we look forward to this event each year. Our annual poker run is a day of fun as well as a fund raiser for the Make-A-Wish of Eastern Ontario organization. Last year we presented a cheque for $3,000.00. This year our goal is to up that by $1,000.00. We are selling chocolate bars, taking donations, and planning various other fund raising endeavors. In the past years, the entry for the poker run has been 50.00. We encourage you this year, to raise more money by pledges. We will award a prize for the highest amount of pledges.
