June 30, 2014 WHERE DO WE TAKE REFUGE FROM ALL THIS MESS!!! Psalm 91: 1-16 Have you turned on the TV lately? It’s all wars and rumors of wars. As if that is not enough, I am constantly bombarded with security alerts. Don’t go here, don’t go there. Terrorist attacks are imminent. There’s this ravaging disease consuming the land. This person just got struck down. They fought a good fight, but succumbed…etc. and unknowingly we can yield ourselves to the spirit of fear, if we don’t rise up and take authority by faith. So this afternoon, I find myself running to Psalm 91. And this is how I am meditating on this today: I take refuge in the shelter and presence of the Most High God; therefore I am safe under his shadow and canopy. I declare boldly today that my God is my shelter, my stronghold, my mighty fortress, and He takes care of my children, my loved ones, and me. God rescues us from all the traps set by our adversary and from all deadly plagues and diseases looming around. My family and I are hidden under his feathers, like a mother hen hides her chicks from danger, and my God protects us under His great wings. His faithfulness is a shield, a force field, and a rock-solid wall around us to protect us. I am not afraid of the terrors in the newspaper, or on TV or social media, or the plagues that is consuming the and/ or the disasters all around. I do not give attention to them or let the thought of them consume me. I have confidence that God can and will protect my family and I from them all. A thousand may fall on my left, ten thousand on my right hand, but these terrors won’t come near me. I will not suffer the destruction of the land, because I make a conscious decision to make God my refuge, and I dwell with Him and In Him. He is my habitation! No evil will come near me, no plague will be found at my door. Even those that have plagued me in the past have given way to the power of God in my life! God, I thank you for commanding your angels to guard me, to keep me safe in every way – when I lie down, wake up, drive in and out, as I worship and pray, in every thing, the angles you have assigned to me are on guard concerning me and my children, to ensure no harm comes our way. We would indeed thread on lions, cobras, serpent, and no harm will come our way! I cling to you in Love my God, and you rescue me consistently. I call upon you and you answer. You carry me through all the storms that I may encounter, and you grant me honor. You reward my diligence in you with many good years on this earth and make me a living witness of your saving grace. Amen
