June 5 - Apples of Gold Can you imagine the Apostle Paul proposing a Temple to be built in Rome to show the oneness of all the pagan religions with Christianity and that they really all worship the same God? What happened to the false gods? What happened to the idea that Satan deceives people with a false gospel and to Paul’s exhortation that if anyone preaches another gospel, let him be accursed? We must resist all attempts to build places where any religious beliefs will be honored, no matter how false, and where the impression will be given that it doesn’t matter what you call your God or what path you take so long as you are religious and sincere! The worst thing a person can have is a religious experience that is not from God, which then insulates them from the truth. Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. —Deuteronomy 12:30
