Just 3 weeks ago, I got involved in the battle against the proposal by PHS. I started recruiting everyone I knew to this group that Eleanor Wise thankfully started. I immediately faced opposition by friends who werent as informed as myself on the subject (having moved to this are 6 years ago specifically for the middle school system) , but as Parent Voice grew I found new friends who shared my passion to fight the injustice, unfairness, and ignorance of the proposal. My early posts were full of anger towards Clive Corbett as he was leading the charge and I said I would tell him how I felt face to face. Last week I did just that, and he listened. Not only did he listen to me (and Diane Small), but he made it clear that he had listened to all of our voices. In that meeting he agreed to include a Risks & Disadvantages information sheet in the proposal and a slide in his presentations to parents. These were submitted to him on Monday morning, and I am pleased to advise that he is a man of his word. All items were included in tonights meeting in their original format with no changes (see document attached). My animosity towards him has been replaced with a new found respect, and I would like to apologise publically for anything derogatory I may have said about him initially. I do believe he realises that mistakes have been made, and I think that if he could he would stop the consultation now and take all the ideas & suggestions received so far and work closely with all the other schools to take Pershore Pyramid from being good to being outstanding for all of our childrens sakes. Unfortunately, the decision is not his alone, but the Governors will be guided by him and US. So I know this is a lot to ask, but if we could stop worrying about plans for an unknown future and concentrate on getting the Governors to vote NO, then we can save our pyramid and make it a flagship to all other pyramids throughout the country. Those who I have heard speak who will still have a vote do not appear to be bigots, but normal people like you and I who are trying to do their best for PHS and for all children. I believe they were not aware of all the potential problems with the proposal, but we as parents and other teachers & governors have educated them and they are now seeing the full picture. Each & every one of us now needs to put in writing continued arguments against the proposal in their online survey starting on 28th Jan. In addition, signing the petition will put them under additional pressure to reach the decision that the vast majority want, so please keep circulating it. Thank you for your support and continued fight. #parentvoicerocks https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/stop-educational-chaos-for-our-area-s-children
