Just FYI: We had 3-way ties for best appetizers, salads, and entrees; and a 5-way tie for best dessert! We tallied 1400+ vote cards, including the on-line votes. And the dining community was just as generous and enthusiastic with their votes as our chefs were talented & creative with their menus, so there were lots of 5 stars across the board!!! So, lets get to it: Chef Billy Lundgren Pizza Rock won awards for Most Enthusiastic New Chef, Most Inspired New Menu Options (Vegan Garden Pizza with House-Made Sundried Tomato Cashew Pesto Cheese + Vegan Firecracker Cheese, 3-Bean Balela Salad, Hearty Vegan Chili, Spinach & Cashew Pesto Pasta, & Tiramisu) & Best Presentation: Brunch (for those awesome Vegan Cinnamon Roll Pancakes-Ambrosia-style!) AND one more for Pizza Rock: Most Enthusiastic Staff (Vegan Challenge Menu Promotion)! Way to ROCK it, Billy!!! Chef Clay Purcell of Tower Bridge Bistro won First Place in Appetizers for Taste, Creativity & Presentation: His Quinoa Tabbouleh, Roasted Beet Bruschetta were a delicious blend of flavors, textures and colors! Also Excellent Presentation for his Watermelon Gazpacho. The Vegan options here are always excellent--This chef does excellent vegan food! First Place-Soup for Taste, Creativity & Presentation went to Chef Evan Elsberry of Evans Kitchen And Catering for that delicious Sweet Potato, Leek & Ginger Soup. Chef Evan was also awarded for Best Variety of Vegan Menu Options-Brunch This has been one of the best places to have breakfast since I have been vegan. Yup. We concur, with choices such as Rice Krispy French Toast, Vegarito, and a Spanish-Style Vegan Omelet, Evans is a great place to go for breakfast! Chef Evan also received an award for Best Variety of Vegan Menu Options for Tasty Vegan Comfort Food including his Eggplant Lasagna, Best Ever Vegan Bolognese, and more! *Evan shared that he plans to re-vamp his menus to include more vegan options all of the time, because just as many non-vegans love these dishes as do vegans!
