Just a commentary....Im sure all of you have been reading about Ray Rice knocking out his then fiancé in a New Jersey casino elevator. Roger Goodell, the NFL,and the state of New Jersey have certainly dropped the ball on this one. Can a me how WR Josh Gordon gets a one yr. suspension for smoking Marijuana and Ray Rice received a 2 game suspension for putting a smack down on a woman. I didnt need to see what went on inside the elevator on video, the initial video of him dragging her out of the elevator was enough. This, in my opinion is not just a Ray Rice domestic violence situation but rather a societal problem. Having 2 daughters and 3 granddaughters myself, these videos hit me hard. When men, with sons, talk to their boys about the birds and the bees, the talk ought to include never laying hands on a woman as well. It also begs the question, why hasnt the state of New Jersey issued a warrant for his arrest? In the Tampa Tribune today, there was a picture of Janal and Ray being embraced by HER father after the fact. Seems like this guy smacking his daughter is okie dokie with him. Now, we also have Ray McDonald of the 49ers arrested for the same thing. Young men need to be told that even though these are professional football players and possibly some kids heroes we need to send the message that their behavior is totally unacceptable. I have a 10 yr. old grandson and Im counting on his Dad to deliver that message to him. Either way, certainly his Papa will!
