Just a friendly little reminder, no soap box this year (well maybe a small one). Veterans Day is a day for ALL veterans. People who joined the military in 1977 had no idea that they would be able to serve their entire contract without ever being shot at or blown up. People who joined in the Spring of 2001 had no idea that we were going to launch into a 15 year war that Fall. Both groups of people made the same promises and swore the same oath. Both groups deserve our respect and our thanks. Veterans Day is not called Combat Veterans Day. So whether youve deployed 10 times, or not at all, retired after 20+, left after your initial contract, or they broke you during training: no matter the circumstances, if you swore to defend the Constitution against all enemies and you tried your best, then thank you for your service. You are a credit to us all.
