Take electricity: professionals know amateur repairmen don?t realize the lethal power of a current. It takes just a small shock to paralyze your muscles, leaving you unable to let go. Just a fraction more contact and your heart can actually stop beating. So it is with sin. People dabble with evil because they don?t fear its power to paralyze the muscles of the soul. Then it?s too late: even when they recognize a sinful behavior is hurting them and they want to quit, they can?t let go! Disobedience to God and His Word is never harmless. You?ll find inner peace by honoring the Lord and His commandments and doing good. You?ll also discover strength to help others find and live in God?s peace when you shun even the littlest sin and instead choose to serve Him with obedience. Let the words of today?s verse compel you to examine your thoughts and actions and change?before it is indeed too late. Prayer Lord, as David says in Psalm 51, remove my sin and make me pure. Create a pure heart in me, and make my spirit strong again. I repent and trust You. Amen.(BLI)
