Just a little follow up on the Hippie Hootenanny event :-) I want to remind all you music lover how important it is to support your local musicians. All the amazing performers that played the show, did so because they love to share their music with us. They have hearts full of energetic passion to express their feelings in a song. They sing and play the stories of their lives. These talented artist do not go home after the show with thousands of dollars in their pockets, but they do go home feeling good that we loved their songs. I need to share with you the magical gift that these artist possess. take Joline Baylis, heavy guitar in one hand, bag full of merchandise in other. she used transit to come and perform. and she was gonna take transit back home to Vancouver after the show, late at night, alone with heavy equipment. that is amazing commitment folks. I thank you Rod Matheson, videographer for EveryDayMusic for giving Joline a safe ride home. also take Faith Numada, she was spending the weekend in Squamish with friends, but drove all the way to Burnaby to perform, and than back to Squamish to finish her weekend. I ask, how many of you would do that? that is amazing commitment too !! so the purpose of this post is to remind you how important it is to support your local musicians. please go to their shows, follow their social media pages. buy their music and other merch. and contact them, let them know how much you enjoyed their music, they love to hear that. I always tag the artists, so they are easy to contact. PLEASE support them :-)
