Just a little irritated with my daughters school! This will probably get me deleted by a few friends but thats ok... My daughter is the minority in her school...shes white. 90% of the schools teachers, staff and students are black, Asian and Muslim. I have loved this school for Bailey and this is her 3rd year there. The principal...who is a very sweet black woman has died her hair blonde...several other black teachers and black and Asian students have died their hair red. I died Baileys hair Auburn...and she gets told to change her hair color or spend the year in an in school suspension until its changed. When asking why she had to change her hair color...when several women in my family have auburn hair...i was told it wasnt natural. Then she proceeded to ask me if I thought Rhiannas hair was natural. My response was no...because Rhianna is a black woman and black people have black hair. She didnt like that response...but am i wrong? When Bailey asked her friends at school if they had to change their hair color....they said no. Now...this morning...i get a call that her pants are too tight and shes not being allowed to go on a field trip. These are the same kind of pants that she has worn for 3 years now! My point being...the Muslim, black and Asian kids in my daughters school are allowed to have auburn or blonde hair...but not the white kids. Her friends never get called out for wearing skinny pants but she does. Then...when I confront the staff member of her treating my daughter differently than the other kids because shes white..she gets offended! If the rule is no unnatural hair color...why is the black principal allowed to have blonde hair? Why are black and Asian students allowed to have blonde or red hair but the white kids are not? They are afraid to say anything to the black and Asian kids because they dont want to be accused of being prejudice. But when I ask about the difference Im accused of being racist!! So wish she was going to Meade County schools!!
