Just a note to parents of teenagers. Their is much said in the word about parenting. A good thing to remember is that your teenager is thinking independently. They are no longer just accepting what they hear. They are learning to make up their own mind. They will not always run on your faith; they must develop their own. I do not encourage rebellion but I am thankful for the opportunity for open discussion. It is still a good thing to do what is right in life, just because it is the right thing to do. But as these young minds form it is healthy for them to question us as to why believe what we believe, or do things the way we do. As children become teenagers they are already preparing for leaving the nest. If you do not allow them to reason with you, they will be ill prepared to make decisions on their own. There comes a time when making them conform to your way of thinking becomes counter-productive. You may be barking out orders and making declarations at a time when the child just wants to be listened to , and to know that their thoughts have value. Then you have their attention and can communicate and reason. It is their rite of passage into maturity. Just ramblin Pastor Robert L Kaps
