Just a quick rant. Dem elitists though...... Okay now I know they exist beyond the gaming world, but this will be targeting gamers. When did people stop enjoying video games for what they were and not the fps or resolution they achieved? The hardware wars have been a thing since there was more than one type of console, but it seems last gen increased the aggressiveness on the matter tremendously! The typical scenario people will think of when this topic is brought up, is PS3/4 fanboys vs XBOX fanboys. They have been at it consistently for years now and the matter only seems to get worse! There are people arguing about the hardware differences between the different brands of consoles who dont even know what the individual components they are spouting out even do for the systems! People see that a game has better FPS on one system than the other and immediately assume it is because the other system cant handle it, never considering that one version of the game may have just been badly optimized. I good example of this at the moment would be the new Assassins Creed Unity. People are in an uproar because the game will be locked at 30FPS for the consoles and the PC version will be as well, if only for a short while. PC users are getting upset because they feel the consoles are holding the game back for their high end computers. What this tells me is that the developers are having a hard time dealing with the new engine they developed for this game arent able to provide a stable experience for players without locking the FPS at 30 with in the time frame they are allotted. I dont believe this reflects on the hardware of either the PS4 or XBOX ONE in any way. Yes they both are a bit dated compared to the newer high end computers out there, but even high end computers will lag on some games if the game isnt optimized well. This hasnt stopped players from attacking each other over whos console is holding everyone back. PC gamers are going into console gamers forums and starting crap because they feel consoles are ruining gameing. Console gamers feel the opposite. I have a PS4 and a decent computer for running current games and I love both! My roommate has an XBOX ONE and has been enjoying it as well. It irks me though that 30FPS is considered Unplayable by many now (Mostly people who have high end PCs -Nvidia 700 series and up- who typically enjoy games at anywhere from 40-90 FPS.) The reason this bothers me so much is that no one cared about games being locked at 30FPS during gameplay trailers. They only seem to star crap once there is a number to go by. Just play the damn game if you think it will be fun! 30FPS is not all that jarring, yeah 60 is better but no one seemed to care when Evil Within came out on consoles, which is also locked at 30FPS. Now to rap up this somewhat incoherent rant. Gaming elitists suck because all they care about is whos hardware is better and I believe that this mind set is what ruins gaming, not the blasted FPS!
