Just a quick update in between doing multiple things at once - cooking dinner, working on the line work for the Six of Fire, and trying to stay warm. Little Arashi, my fur kid is doing well. She stayed at the vets until Saturday afternoon, at which time she was released back into our care. The vet believed that Arashi had a blockage in her little poop tube and that because the x-rays showed that it was moving, she would be able to pass it normally. However, so far everything that has arrived in the litter tray has been normal and because she has pooped a couple of times the cause of any blockage would have passed also, because it was apparently so big that nothing could get passed it. My thoughts now are that she ate something - a particular food product that she will NEVER consume again - that both inflamed her stomach and poisoned her at the same time. Her initial x-rays revealed that her stomach was both swollen and inflamed and they were taken 24 hours after she had eaten this particular food source and consequently vomited remnants of it back up.(sorry for the grossness) But because this food source is regularly given to cats and recommended by some vets, my belief that it was the food was dismissed completely. Shes had a barrage of blood tests that have only confirmed what she didnt have wrong with her, and not a single test that revealed without a doubt what it was that did cause her to develope a high fever, very inflamed stomach lining, and to throw up several times. The only way I can prove my suspicions, however, is to give the food to her again, and I just wont do that. I would rather be wrong and have her never eat that particular food again, than be right by making her sick all over again. I love her way too much to potentially do her further harm just to see if I am correct. Right now, shes snuggled up on top of one of our snakes tanks with her face planted in her snuggy. Shes been playing, and loving, and eating well, and is almost finished her medicine. Shes back to being her cheeky, awesome, purrfect self. Thank you to those who have messaged me to ask about her
