Just a quick update, not much has changed, day seven of ongoing fever, seems as soon as the meds wear off his temp hits the roof and the rash inflames again. A little bit of good news, they have finally managed to hit a vein so hes hooked back up to intravenous which means no more tablet taking and the meds direct into the blood stream. The medical team are awaiting results from cultures trying to determine what/which bacteria it is thats causing all this choas, so more waiting and praying til we get the results in. In the meantime they have taken him completely off Amoxicilina as this is having no effect whatsoever on the bacterial pneumonia, again comes down to what bacteria they are dealing with, which again comes down to the cultures, so they are taking a stab in the dark by changing to a different antibiotic to see if that has effect. Couldnt fault the staff at all they are doing an absolutely fantastic job at keeping him controlled and comfortable, we are definitely in til Monday earliest just praying well have him home and well for Christmas. Thank you everyone for all your well wishes and prayers, its keeping us all up tempo and in a positive frame of mind, hopefully another day may give me something positive to report, until then, enjoy your evening and weekend :)
