Just a quick update on my progress since my accident. Yesterday I went to court for wreckless driving. Yes, apparently when you fall asleep at the wheel of a motor vehicle its frowned upon. Who knew! I ended up paying a $100 fine plus $81.00 court fees. At least thats over. I finally finished a sleep study last week which found that I had severe sleep apnea. So Im sucking air through a CPAP machine for awhile. Its definitely better than dying a pointless death in a car accident. Today I went to see the surgeon that did my knee surgery. Its been 5 weeks since my second knee surgery and all looks good. My knee cap is in one solid piece. I have to wear the brace for two more weeks and off it comes. Ive been released for full motion therapy so I can get my leg to bend the full range. Were at 70 degrees now and go for 90 degrees on Monday. Thats probably going to hurt some. We stay at 90 for 2 weeks and move on from there. I should be there in about 6 weeks. Ive also been released from occupational therapy on my arm. I just need to do the exercises at home to get the few degrees in rotation that I still lack. I see the arm doctor on Wednesday to see just how agressive the exercises can be. Im still wearing the arm brace as long as I have the leg brace on, just in case I fall. Purely precautionary. So all is well, or at least getting there. I might even catch some of kayaking season.
