Just a short while ago someone that I met only 48 hours ago left - TopicsExpress

Just a short while ago someone that I met only 48 hours ago left my home and my heart is broken. Rocky was going to be put to sleep on Saturday, July 5th and although I dont have a lot of experience with dogs I went with my gut instinct to try and save him although apparently according to his owner he was aggressive in addition to the fact that he had seizures, four to date, prior to medication. This is a four month old doggy that although it was believed he was border collie lab, apparently he was more Shepherd mix. Rocky was bought for this person as a gift from someone on Craigslist who may have been a breeder. Unfortunately he does have a medical condition, but that in no way is a death sentence. Im so grateful that I went against what everyone was telling me and I went with my heart. I told her to bring him to me although I wasnt sure what I was going to do after that because I wanted to give this barely 4 month old baby the benefit of the doubt. He passed every single aggression test with flying colors, especially when he went to the vet, the Country Animal Clinic, Dr. Debaecke who put him in a compromising position and made him uncomfortable and yet he did not go to bite. He played so beautifully with the doggies at the vets office and in no way shape or form showed any aggression towards people there or at my home with the kitties. He looked and he wanted to play and he would bark a little from excitement, but he didnt do anything to harm them. Today a friend took him and I cried like a baby. I have hope that Mulligan Animal Rescue and Louisa will find someone that will be able to take care of him and meet his needs, medical and temperamental because he isa baby who is teething and he does need training. People must remember that having a pet is a huge responsibility and it takes a lot of sacrifice especially when they may not behave the way you think they should. As always education is key. This is only the beginning for Rocky and at least he has a fighting chance. I will keep you posted on any updates with regards to this baby and since we will need donations to help support him (MRI) and his medical care, I will be following Rocky boy. I hope you enjoy his video of the first time meeting us. ADOPT. SPAY. NEUTER. LOVE. HTTP://WWW.ALLFORTHEPAWS.ORG
