Just a thought.. Would it be possible to deter occurrences of violence and crime apropos of what happened earlier yesterday at the DC Naval Yards, or any such future acts of immoral/illicit aggression against the innocent? Perhaps, by way of combining biometric-physiological interpretative technology with brainwave data sensors strategically placed far beyond and well within the perimeters of the workplace, school and home, the intent and purpose of the criminal mind may be revealed in real-time; as such, these preventative measures emplaced may serve to neutralize the aforementioned threats before the crime develops, or worsens. A supercomputer-driven data center would simultaneously collate, interpret, valuate and provide logical solutions to efficiently correct these behavioral anomalies. At a minimum, I believe this concept would serve well as an early warning detection system - providing ample countermeasures for evacuation, self-defense or even the initiative to pursue the assailant/s before they arrive. Prudent application of said crime-deterrent technologies may prevent and greatly diminish the likelihood of enactment or reoccurrence of any penchant within the human condition to commit such vile atrocities.
