Just a thought, but if all the realtors who say they represent us here along the coast would get together and figure out a good marketing strategy for the Eastern Shore, it would be a beneficial situation for all. I know its not easy when there is little employment other than a few local businesses (bless em). Realtors, NS Econ Dev, HRM should collaborate and stop wasting money on tourism for now. If you build it, they will come - the point is, we need some new energy here, and that doesnt mean solar/wind but it could. Wind power along the coast? What a crazy idea :-) Its working in Porters Lake and in Sheet Harbour. How about Marie Joseph? Maybe we could set up small scale manufacturing - possibly value-added forest products, furniture, axe handles, guitar tops, chopsticks? Dont laugh....a Saskatchewan company set up in a small prairie town with no trees in sight, and landed contracts selling chopsticks to... China. True story.
