Just a thought for everyone to think on. Long post but please read!! We all know crime is running rampart in the city and the county. Used to be we thought about our neighbors being nosey if they asked questions or stared at what might be going on in and around our homes. While they’re neighborhood crime watch areas, many of which aren’t really effective because the neighbors are scared to call and report anything to authorities. This has to change. As we all have read primarily on FB and other social media sights we are plagued with burglaries, one of which a gentleman from what I understand was seriously injured and please correct me if I am wrong with this information. It’s time we start observing our neighbors habits, try to communicate with them, whether we may or may not like them. This is the first key to trying to stop the crime as it’s only going to get worse with holidays coming up. You need to make note of unusual automobiles in your neighborhood, take a picture of the auto with your cellphone, and if necessary call 911. The Sheriff’s department had rather you error on the side of caution, rather than investigate a burglary, or a burglary with an injury and the same with the Police department. You must remember we live in the largest county in the state, but I can tell you our Sheriff’s department has a tremendous response time to suspicious vehicles and reported burglaries. While they would always like to catch a thief, sometimes you just can’t. Even in town in 90% of the cases I imagine only a very few are caught in the act. This is where community involvement is of the upmost importance. I’m sure your neighbor won’t mind you calling the Police or Sheriff’s dept to prevent a break in and reporting that suspicious activity.
