Just an advise for the fathers (parents). There is NO harm if you ask a man (or they guys wali) for your daughter. Umar bin Khataab did it so can you!! This should not make you feel that your daughter is not deserving. Infact, this will bring more respect to you. Honesty brings respect. It is better to get your kids married rather than think that they are innocent at 18 or 20 years of age, while they go around (at shopping centres and universities) wanting to get married. Marriage is a need. My dearest parents, do not ignore your sons and daughters by becoming an obstacle between them and their needs.. If you wont given them the correct thing, they will choose the wrong thing. But they will surely choose as it is a human need. Parents, your time was different. You did not have such visual media during those times, such magazines, such billboards, such technology etc. Today, as soon as you step out of the house you see fitnah. Islam has given us practical solutions, lets all try and implement it. Marriage saves societies!!
