Just an update to let you know I am scheduled for surgery on Dec. 11. Results from the nerve study revealed I have pinched nerves in my elbow and wrist. Funny how one Dr. says one thing, and the other Dr. says another. The Dr. (at Ortho Carolina)right after he did the nerve study said it was my Ulnar nerve in my shoulder causing the pain in the hand. So I went back for the results from the main Dr. at Ortho Carolina last week and he said it was not coming from the shoulder. He said it is very severe and will take me a good while to feel relief and even longer to heal. He said the nerves are very difficult to heal. I will have to be put completely to sleep since it is very complicated as well as being cancer related. If all goes well, I will be able to come home that day but will need help with keeping my bandages changed and clean. He asked if my husband would be able to help and I laughed! Jimbo and wounds DO NOT go together!!! But I am not worried, I am very able to change bandages and stuff since I have been my parents caretaker forever. I put more bandages on my stepfather than all my kids together when they were little. Arles had that paper thin skin and fell at least 10 times a day! Was one hard headed man, but I miss him really terribly! I have my daughter and sister to help me play nurse if needed. I dread surgery, but look so forward to being in less pain. Bad thing is..I have to go through pain...,to have less pain!!! go figure!! God Bless everyone!!!
