Just as promised, the ASUS ZenWatch launches in select markets at long last ASUSs first foray into the market for wearables, the ZenWatch, got introduced in early September and, frankly said, set itself apart from the rest of the Android Wear gang with its svelte form factor. During the announcement, ASUS did not make it clear when the smartwatch will hit the shelves, yet subsequently we heard that a limited amount of the gadget will make the rounds at the very end of October (in select markets, that is). Just as ASUS promised, the Watch is already available in certain markets across Asia, most notably Japan, and its bearing a price tag that translates to $275. The pricing does not deviate from the initially promised price of EUR 199, which translates to roughly $260 (before taxes and subsidies). The ASUS ZenWatch has a Snapdragon 400 SoC, 512MB of RAM, some 4GB of on-board memory, and a 396mAh juice bank. The 1.63-inch display of the device relies on 2.5D glass and sports a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels, which means that the wearable has a pixel density of 277ppi. At the moment, there is no word when or whether the device will travel westbound. Sources: ITMedia, PhoneArina #Asus #ZenWatch #AndroidWear #Android 1st-tech.eu
