Just awful what happened in #Ottawa this morning. My heart really goes out to the families effected by the tragedy. When the boys were younger, I never wanted to leave them with a sitter, so I drove a school bus until I got them into a daycare program. I remember the training very well. We were to stop well before the rail road tracks, open the door & window, check, close everything up and then proceed. This was for every rail road track weather there were lights and an arm or not. Apparently, that training is not for all forms of bus transportation. The passengers were quoted as saying they were yelling at the bus driver to stop. I am sure over the next few days more details will be known about what happened. Nothing will change what happened, but I am sure they will figure out safer measures for transporting passengers.
