Just back from another glorious day in Paris. We saw St. Eustace, the church right where the old cemetery of Les Innocents once existed. And the great opera house! At last I walked inside it, up its grand staircase, under its magnificent ceilings, through its grand foyer. At last. A ballet company was rehearsing; got a glimpse of the auditorium, the gilded tiers, the orchestra. Ah, such a day. Spent a lot of time driving through the Marais, seeing the Place de Vosges. Visiting a marvelous building in that area...just having so much fun. Our guide was marvelous, so knowledgeable about architecture and French history. What a dream this has been. And I come back to beautiful flowers from my French publisher in this lovely little hotel room. Ah, what a dream.
