Just because I need to get this off my chest and I dont know who to send this to directly. Dear BCCI, I have sat on the idea of sending this email for a long time. Initially I decided not to send it as I didnt want to act on my anger in the moment and say things that could be rude or offensive. So I waited, waited for my rash emotions to quell. Now, about a month since I found out that you at the BCCI had abbreviated the India tour to SA due to a petty, personal, administrative, lipstick feud I am no longer angry. No, anger definitely does not describe the emotion I feel towards you. Rather, as a parent who wants a child to understand the true consequences of their actions, Im disappointed. Perhaps it is the feverish passion for cricket in India that I have not been exposed to that has caused members of the BCCI board to feel a sense of absolute power over the most beautiful game, and it is clear that decisions are no longer being made with best interests of the game and its fans at heart. In fact, I dont even think that the BCCI takes into consideration the best interests of the players. This power and sense of ownership over cricket has led to nothing but negativity. Every time I think about the reasons why this tour, which could have been an unbelievable opportunity for a young Indian team to make a name for themselves in the absence of recently retired greats of the game, I find myself shaking my head in disbelief. The administrators job is to ensure that the two biggest players in the cricketing life-cycle, namely: The Players and The Fans are kept happy with opportunities and managed workload as best as those administrators can. You, BCCI have chosen to punish the two biggest players in the continuity and growth of the game for reasons that matter to YOU only. Your decision making was selfish, irresponsible and corrupt. As the largest cricketing nation in the world, you have let us all down with your poor management and childish antics. Nothing can be done to stop you as you have the numbers and the money to be the bullies of the modern game, all that is left is for us smaller nations whos proverbial lunch money you continue to steal is to close our eyes, go to our happy place and take the beatings you so nonchalantly dish out. Thanks for ruining Summer.
