Just because a person has faith, it does not mean that the person - TopicsExpress

Just because a person has faith, it does not mean that the person has an equal measure of charity to that faith. But see what the impact of faith has on a persons soul, by the example of 1 of my 3 big Patron Saints... By faith, Elias (a.k.a. Elijah) beheld with an infallible accuracy and keenly conscious assurance the unity of the true God, the beautiful sanctity of His law, the majestic wisdom and harmony of His government, the watchful and fatherly tenderness of His mercy. It is one of the priceless virtues of faith, that by bringing divine realities before us, and showing us their value and proportion, it defends us against the imposition of the false and the unsubstantial. Faith erects a tribunal within the soul before which all things are analysed, measured and judged. Truth sits there in permanent possession of the temple, and every idol of error which attempts to enter falls down at the threshold. They who have a lively, vigorous faith, united with charity, bear God in the body, (1 Cor 6:20) as St. Paul says, wherever they go. They move securely, because they are not puzzled and entangled by the phantoms with which they come in contact as they pass along through an illusory world. ~ The Prophet of Carmel, by Fr. Charles B. Garside
