Just been alerted to the comments in Outdoor Cinema Events Tab, as i dont get notifications with likes etc on this events page/tab. We have been unaware that there was a cinema in the club on that weekend, had we of known, of course we would have moved it. We are only across the road so all it would have taken is a wee shout or a phone call to get it sorted. We appreciate the hard work involved in your club and all clubs, and we try to support as many of the locals as possible, until just this month we had sponsored Dromintees training strips, we sponsor Forkhill Ladies, Newry tri Club, Midway United Soccer team, Newry Wheelers, the Clanrye Group football team as well as other teams and clubs across Newry and Mourne. As well as a focus on our local communities be it in Newry City or South Armagh we want to be part of making South Armagh a destination for tourists from other parts of Ireland and farther afield to come to and enjoy. Our Summer program which includes outdoor cinemas, concerts, open mics etc etc is planned well in advance so that we can provide the best possible offer for locals and visiting tourists. Grounded has committed ourselves to Slieve Gullion and the area, and are part of groups which come together to promote the entire area in an effort to improve its tourist potential. If any of you visit, outside of peak time, which is July and August, you can see that trade is slow, so these events arent merely a line the pockets approach, more so, they are essential to being able to provide that service throughout the autumn, winter and spring months, for the students at Clanrye and the small but very appreciated number of tourists and locals. We block book the cinemas, communicating with our supplier, and book back up dates for each, in case the weather is poor, we also when notified, do not hold them at the same times of other similar events in the greater area, for example, having been told by a member of Crossmaglen GAC will be hosting one we purposefully havent booked in a cinema for around that date. We have three more dates booked for this summer, and usually market these by doing one week before intense socially media activity to promote the event. The events in Gullion are undertaken for all people in the area and outside of the area, we have had people from BBridge, Dundalk, Carlingford, Keady as well as further afield come to our nights. Im very sure that the Dromintee supporters will flock to the Outdoor cinema to see Rocky on the Saturday, and if I could get a baby sitter two nights in a row, id be going myself!
