Just completed my session (10) in my RCIA. It focused on The Eucharist in the catholic faith. This is what I have gain in understanding of the sacrament of the Eucharist. The Eucharist provides refuge for the weary, sustenance for the hungry and warmth for those left frozen by hardship. By accepting our Lord’s love and grace in this Holy Communion. That when you receive the communion, I get the understanding that our Lord is within you and all around you. Renewing your strength and faith in knowing He is with you always. Enlightening and strengthening our spirit in our difficult times we face in life. The Eucharist is a nourishing gift to us and spending time with Jesus in adoration is our gift of love in return is what I learned on it. One thing I find clear in it. Is that many Catholics will have reflections that vastly different from the others on what the Eucharist means to them. The Eucharist focuses on the theme of the last supper and is a spiritual communion with God. That the elements of the bread and wine from that event. Illustrates the body of Christ and the blood of Christ. That our Lord Christ is offered and received through this sacrament in the bread and wine that represents His blood and body. That if I did this, I can’t see Christ with my bodily eyes in this sacrament. That I would see Him with the eyes of faith in accepting and acknowledging Him in this sacrament. Christ gives us His own body and blood in the Holy Eucharist: first, to be offered as a sacrifice commemorating and renewing for all time the sacrifice of the cross; second, to be received by the faithful in Holy Communion; third, to remain ever on our altars as the proof of His love for us, and to be worshipped by us. That is what I have gained overall from this session from my perspective. On to session 11.
