Just feel sadder and sadder. I dont think there is a delay in indicting - that implies that there will be an indictment. It seems unlikely, if for no other reason than that it never happens. If it does, at the local level anyway it will obviously be a sham. McCulloch has made it pretty clear where he stands, and by now, he is aware of the relevant facts. My heart hurts for both sides: the good cops, trying to protect the community with so little compensation for all they endure, and with the victims of long standing racial injustice, tired of being taken as second class citizens whos skin alone makes it allowable to perceive them as a threat. I am so angry with both sides: the militarized cops making a mockery of justice, and the criminal element making a mockery of the protestors. What I want to see is more about justice in the form of legislating more accountability into the system. When a suspect is injured or killed in police custody, there needs to be external review. Wether this means helmet and dash cams or some other watchdog review group, something has to give. And somebody has to prepare the people for a legislative battle and a justice for the future. For the present, chances are it will be no indictment, or an acquittal, and when it happens I dont want to watch my city burn.
